Our story
A family kitchen on Whyte Avenue, built around dumplings, noodles and long tables full of people.
Jade Willow is named after the tree outside our grandmother’s kitchen window, where the whole family gathered every Sunday to fold dumplings.
We opened on Whyte Avenue in 2019 with six tables, one noodle chef and a menu that fit on a postcard. The idea was simple: cook the food we grew up with, properly, and make it the kind of place you bring your parents and your friends.
Today the dining room is bigger and the menu is longer, but the mornings look the same. The dough is made at seven. The dumplings are folded by nine. The broth has been going since the night before.
We source pork and beef from Alberta farms, greens from local growers in summer, and we make our own chili oil, black vinegar dressing and dumpling wrappers in-house.
